What is an eList?
eLists are a set of distribution lists that the Clinton Valley Council will be using to get the latest information about what is happening within the council and in your districts out to you. Once you sign up for an eList, you will be included each time an email update is sent out to that list. Depending on the time of year and what lists you signed up for, the emails are sent out about once a week.

What eLists are available?
Right now each district has its own set of eLists. These eLists focus on information important to everyone involved with a Cub Scout Pack, Boy Scout Troop, Venturing Crew, and Explorer Post. This includes the leaders as well as the parents. There are also eLists aimed at the District Committee and the District Commissioner’s Staff.

How many eLists can I subscribe to?
Each district will have its own eLists and eVentures and you are welcome to subscribe to as many as you would like. Use the link from the eVenture/eList page on the council web site to get to the lists available in each district.

Who can sign up for eLists?
Everyone. This is not limited to registered Scouters or members of a special group. These updates are available to everyone and all of the leaders and parents in your units are encouraged to sign up. In fact, there is a “Share The News” link on every message that is sent out so you can forward it on to others.

How do I sign up for an eList?
Go to the eLists and Registration page and then click on the link for your district on the right hand side of the page. You will need to create a User Profile the first time to get a User ID and Password. Once you are logged in, check the boxes for your eVenture and eLists and then click “Update Profile” to save your changes.

Does this mean that I’m going to get multiple copies of the eList messages?
No. The Doubleknot system filters out multiple email addresses so you should only get one set of emails.

Will my email address be shared or visible to anyone else?
No. When your eList or eVenture is sent out you should see your own email address in the “To:” line, but no one else’s.

How do I unsubscribe?
If at any time you wish to unsubscribe from the eVenture or an eList, just click the link that will be at the bottom of the eVenture or the email from any list. Then all you have to do is uncheck those lists from which you no longer wish to receive email and click “Update Profile”.

I know that I'm signed up, but I'm not getting my eLists. What do I do?
Your email program may be blocking the message because it thinks it is spam. The first thing you should do is to add noreply@doubleknot.com to your address book. This will allow the eLists to bypass many spam filters.
